MKP-San Diego
The ManKind Project

San Diego

MKP San Diego ran its first New Warrior Training Adventure in February 1991 and became a Full Center later that year. More than 2,500 men have attended their NWTA weekend in San Diego.

MKPSD is an all-volunteer organization. Our mission is to “Change the World one man at a time. We are men mentoring men – through the passages of their lives.” We do that by teaching the core values of integrity, accountability and compassion to empower each man to live his own personal mission of service in the world. We hold New Warrior Training Adventure weekends four times every year. In addition, we offer various trainings throughout the year that focus on emotional literacy, interpersonal and partner relationships, Multi-Cultural Awareness and Leadership.

Men find support in their journey by participation in Integration Groups (i-Groups). I-Groups meet on a regular weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis throughout San Diego. Men in I-Groups find the support and connection of other men as they “integrate” their skills and knowledge into the fabric of their lives. We currently have more than 18 I-Groups meeting regularly throughout San Diego. They exist to serve and support the men of the Community and their numbers are growing.

Men in the MKP San Diego Community find many opportunities to exercise their talents and leadership abilities within the organization. Of course, there is always a need for men to help with the work that keeps MKPSD functioning smoothly and allows us to hold trainings and serve new men. We are also proud to support the work that an organization like Boys to Men bring to our society. Boys to Men mentors young men between the ages of 11 and 17 through an often difficult period of growing up. In 17 years the program has spread across the United States, and now has international centers in Canada, Europe and South Africa. Over 6,000 boys and men have participated in the Boys to Men program since its inception. Two of the founders helped start this organization in San Diego AFTER their NWTA training. And this is just one of many, many ways that MKP San Diego live their missions of service in the world.

We are also proud of the fact that in San Diego it is NOT all work and no play. Certainly living in mission is a joy all its own. AND fun and fellowship is a big part of who we are. We just plain like BEING with each other – connecting at trainings, meetings, the Annual Gathering and other Community events as well as events worldwide!

Our invitation to you is “come and join us! The world needs men who live their lives with conscious intent and display integrity, accountability and compassion. The WORLD NEEDS YOU! “

We are

An order of Men

Called to reclaim sacred masculinity for our time

Through initiation, training and action in the world.
